Traceability Program enhances our FOOD SAFETY

Year after Year the Farm "grows" not only by Crops and Acreage but also in knowledge, technology and quality assurance. And as we expand, Consumer expectations and Governmental standards also increase in demands for safer food. This year Durst Organic Growers has instituted a Traceability Program that incorporates new hardware and software that will allow us to place a Bar Code Label on every Box, Bin or Bundle that leaves our Farm. This is GTI technology at work... (Global Traceability Infrastructure) These bar codes not only help consumers when purchasing product in the stores, but also work backwards with information that can help trace harvest date, location, and lot information in the case of a problem. Traceability is only part of our Food Safety Program here at Durst. A hard working team of dedicated employees is assigned to check, inspect, develop and manage our Good Agricultural Practices that encompass a wide and disciplined range of cleanliness, handling, transport, education, and training to make sure that every product leaving the Farm arrives Safely to the consumer. Everything relating to Food Safety here is carefully considered and ingrained in our work culture... assuring the Public that only the BEST will do!
