We were happy to participate with Esparto's Countryside Community Church in hosting a Field Day on the topic of Sabbath Economics! A group of over 50 people came out to enjoy a fine meal among the tomato transplants on April 24th 2012 at Durst Organic Growers.
CEO Jim Durst graciously led visitors on a short walking tour, entertaining and educating guests on organic farm practices. This fair weather event focused on Sabbath Economics (definition: The focus on voluntary redistribution of wealth & A foundation of abundance as opposed to scarcity in other modern economic models.) Grilled Asparagus and a Butternut Lasagna proved to be a hearty meal, accompanying a very nice setting to enlighten and inspire us all to realize how lucky we are to live where we live, grow what we grow and to share what we can.
