August brought out a bounty of guests from our friends at Whole Foods! The first group of 40 were Assistant Team Leaders from different stores in Northern CA arriving at the farm on August 3rd. All enjoyed a fine lunch bordering the Cherry tomato field after a Farm Overview discussion with Jim Durst and a short walking tour through the vines and Asparagus Fern. The group went on after the meal to enjoy additional visits to Capay Organic and Full Belly Farms.
Another group of 40 Produce Specialists from Whole Foods NC arrived on August 9th for the same type of tour. Jim demonstrated and sampled some fresh cut Durst Organic melons with our Farm Manager Jesus Marquez. With cold water in hand, this group also toured the fields and enjoyed a conversational overview about farm practices, history and, organic eduction here at Durst Organic Growers. We were honored to host part of this Tour for Whole Foods with a chance to provide them with a direct relationship to the Farm to be remembered throughout the season.
